I am a full professor and member of the Department of Physics and Astronomy (Group Science and Technology) since 2007. Before I was a researcher at the IBM Research Center in Zurich (Zwitserland) for 19 years.

The increasing teaching load (more students and courses coupled to decreasing RE’s) and the dimished return on projects (more overhead) steadily increases the pressure on the collaborators. This creates problems for some colleagues leading to an increasing fallout rate (burnout, illness, etc.). These trends are partially ‘homemade’ and are therefore reversible if the appropriate choices are made. The social representation is an important and constructive partner in the search towards better and broad-based solutions for each collaborator taking into account the specifics of the situation and the available competences. To help shape this process, I engage myself for the ACLVB.
