Management Committee Common Department for HSE KU Leuven Association

The Common Departement for Health, Safety and the Environment Association KU Leuven is the Common Internal Service for Prevention and Protection at Work (also known as the Common Service HSE), for various legal entities as authorized by Royal Decree of 13 May 2016.

This includes, among others, KU Leuven, UCLL, Thomas More, Vives, LUCA, Odisee, Luca School of Arts.

The Common HSE Service is managed by a management committee, as determined by the Royal Decree.

The Management Committee is responsible for:

  • The appointment and replacement of prevention advisors, the appointment of a temporary deputy and the removal from their position.
  • Advice on the choice of external prevention advisors.
  • The financial problems regarding management and administrative organization of the Common HSE Service. (The financial problems fall solely under the responsibility and authority of the employers. The employees' representatives have a right of advice and information in these matters.)
  • Admission of any new members.
